DRI-TOUCH® Sealant Protecta Bare Metal Surfaces Against Rust

Minneapolis, Minnesota: Rust on metal parts can occur anywhere and at anytime in the manufacturing process, shipment or storage. Sorting out, refinishing or scrapping corroded parts can be expensive and time consuming unless the right rust preventative measures are taken. Manufacturing engineers, toolroom managers, MRO professionals, and shipping and receiving personnel will benefit from the rust preventative features of Dri-Touch® sealant.

Since finished tooling, fixturing, dies, etc. are so dimensionally critical and expensive to produce, they can not tolerate the destructive effects of rust while in service or in storage. Dri-Touch topcoat is an effective rust blocker to protect these critical surfaces. The coating is a non-tacky film which will not run off or wick off into packaging, thus maintaining an effective, long-term barrier against humidity and corrosion

Other applications which require protection are in-process parts or even raw material stock such as castings, forgings, powdered metal or partially finished components waiting for final grinding, etc. Excessive rusting of these parts leads to higher finishing costs and less efficient processing because they require de-rusting or must be scrapped. Here again, the coating serves as an effective rust preventative that is compatible with cutting oils and coolants. A quick dip or spray of Dri-Touch sealant is all that is required to protect in-process parts against corrosion.

Using Dri-Touch sealant from Birchwood Casey, metal parts can be protected from rust with a non-oily protective coating that won't run off the surface or wick off into packaging materials. Providing up to 1000 plus hours of humidity protection with a 130° flash point, Dri-Touch sealant is unsurpassed as a fast penetrant and water displacer.

According to Birchwood Casey, Dri-Touch sealant can be applied directly over wet surfaces. When applied, water is quickly lifted off the surface and out of recessed areas such as blind holes, threads and even out of porous surface areas. Dri-Touch sealant penetrates porous metal surfaces such as powdered metal, and seals out atmospheric humidity and corrosion, leaving a dry surface which won't attract dust.

Available in two light-bodied liquid grades, Dri-Touch can be applied easily by dipping, brushing or low-pressure spraying. Costing just pennies per part to use, Dri-Touch can be applied in batches or large quantities quickly and with minimal labor utilization.
