New Prototype-Scale Black Oxide Line Utilizes TRU TEMP® Black Oxide Now Available For Buying On-Line

Eden Prairie, Minnesota: Manufacturers requiring same-day finishing of small lots of parts can now achieve high quality black oxide coatings in only 25 minutes with the Birchwood Casey BK-TT Mini TRU TEMP® Line.

The TRU TEMP low temp black oxide process operates at only 200∞ F and serves as a direct replacement for dangerous hot oxides that normally operate at 290∞ F. Utilizing a patented, two-step chemistry, the TRU TEMP process forms a black magnetite finish of .000020” thickness that satisfies all applicable Mil Specs and contains no EPA regulated metals.

The Mini TRU TEMP line can be purchased for $588 and utilizes seven 5-gallon immersion tanks. The kit comes complete with all the tanks, covers, heaters and a generous supply of chemical products to operate the entire process for 4-6 months. Occupying only about 20 square feet, the BK-TT Line fits well almost anywhere in the plant, such as in the tool room, prototype or maintenance area or in a manufacturing cell. Especially useful in job shops where short run black oxide finishing is often needed on a 'Rush' basis.

The Mini TRU TEMP system is safe and easy to operate and causes no pollution problems. Quality is high, but the bottom line benefit is that it eliminates the turnaround time for short run black oxide and enhances the ability to satisfy customers' delivery needs.
